In the Bible in the book of Genesis, Chapter 12, verses 1 through 3, God tells us that he has chosen Abram (who will later be renamed “Abraham”) to make His nation of Israel:
“And Jehovah said to Abram, Go out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house into a land that I will show you. And I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
In Genesis Chapter 15, verse 18, God makes it clear that he gave Abraham’s descendents specific portion of land:
“In the same day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates . . .”
In Joshua Chapter 1, verses 1 through 4, God reiterates that the land belongs to the descendents of Abraham:
“And it happened after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, My servant Moses is dead. Now, therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people to the land which I give to them, to the sons of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, I have given that to you, as I said to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.”
We may listen to the pundits who claim that Israel is not God’s chosen people, or that they do not own the land they are on, but those who take that position will find themselves disagreeing with God.
